This property is considered as the first TWIN house in the Philippines, with this particular house and the one next to it as mirror images of each other. This place combines history, art, good food and accommodation in Silay City – the Paris of Negros Occidental, Philippines.
OUR HISTORY
In 2020, the present owners converted the house into the 1898 Casa and Restorante. The ground floor is where the bedrooms are located. The house structure and layout are unchanged. Repairs have been made and a fresh coat of white paint adorns the inside, giving it a bright and cheerful vibe.
THE ARCHITECTURAL DETAILS
The house is embellished with beautiful, ornamental Art Nouveau pierced screens or “calados” (ornately carved room dividers depicting stylized flowers, lyres and anahaw leaves) and cast-iron brackets.

Don’t miss the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) Marker! The marker is given out only to houses that are over 50 years old and that have had significant historical events occur in them. The marker is in a central location and hard to miss. It’s a great photo spot too.
